By Ulrike Voelcker

This is the final part of the three-part series from this highly respected author and designer. After the huge acclaim which the first two parts received, this part has been eagerly awaited and is sure to delight Ulrike's many followers.

Presented in the same meticulous style and packed with detail as the earlier parts, it has much to enrich and deepen the lacemaker's knowledge of Torchon including how to read and evaluate a pricking, to plan ahead and to gain a thorough understand of the process as a whole. It features exercises with solutions using the techniques learned in Part 1, so is difficult to use without it. As part of that learning process, the authur includes 55 extremely attractive patterns For those who do not already own the previous part, we have a combination offer of Parts 1 & 3 at a special price. Part 2 also continues to be available.

Again, it consists of a set of loose pages (about 120 sides on 60 double-sided sturdy, glossy sheets) in a plastic wallet, punched for holding in a loose-leaf binder (not supplied), on their own or together with Parts 1 & 2. The author's claim that this approach is more economical to the lacemaker and more practical than a bound hardcover book - and also allows individual sheets to be handled easier when copying the prickings - appears to be well-founded and the idea was well-received with the earlier parts.

Packed with very clear and meticulous diagrams, many colour assisted, prickings, photographs and instructional text.
