Jane Lewis "Simply Bucks"

My name is Jane Lewis – the name behind Simply Bucks. I started lacemaking in 1985 when I attended a summer school local to me in the heart of Buckinghamshire. I always say it was like lacemaking had been waiting for me to discover it- I fell under its spell and I’m still there! I discovered later that my Great Great Grandmother was a lacemaker so it must be in the genes!

Over 25 years ago I was invited to teach when my teacher Ann Cope retired. With the introduction of a lace design computer program my interest in designing really took off. Although I semi- retired from teaching in 2019 I still do run weekend courses and summer school.

It is a rare day that a bobbin is not in my hand.
