Full instructions are given firstly for each of the letters of the alphabet giving two alternatives for each - one using simple bobbin lace stitches, the other using more complex Milanese braids with both using variations of colour for different letters. The author then presents 24 designs which use the potential of the alphabet as a design source. Pattern instructions are in meticulous detail with clear working diagrams, prickings and photographs.
