In this beautifully presented book, the author introduces many of us to this distinctive Viennese Art Nouveau bobbin lace which was developed in around 1910.
It opens with a section which sets out beautiful examples from the designers, lace schools and skilled lacemakers of the day, which survive in museums and other locations.
Then, after a very well described and well illustrated section on the techniques and methods involved, the main section offers 25 excellent new projects, mostly edgings of various shapes, very well supported by excellent colour photographs, clear prickings, working diagrams where needed, as well as instructions, in both German and English, where needed.
A lace that is a joy to make and own, well described in a book that is a joy in itself.
