After a brief section on preparation and materials, the basic techniques - footsides, plaits, picots, leaves and crossings - are described and there is a section on edgings - both elementary and more advanced - as well as a large range of patterns, 40 with point ground and honeycomb fillings and 20 for collars, cuffs, yokes and edgings using Lester and other pattern drafts. Clear patterns, diagrams and black and white photographs throughout.
