The book's title translates as "The Joy of Lacemaking" and explores a traditional lace that had its origins in the Bohemian One Mountain region of what is now the Czech Republic.

First, the author sets out the origins and later history of the lace before describing the basics structure of the lace, supported by clear line drawings and photographs

There follows a selection of 17 patterns of various complexity, each supported by a thread and bobbin recommendation (in German), a clear photograph - some in colour - and a pricking, part of the large folded sheets stored inside the book..
