Making a Splash for Swimathon 2023
Louise West has designed this Bedfordshire lace motif as a charity fundraiser to celebrate Swimathon 2023. Louise will be giving a donation from the sale of the pattern to her Swimathon sponsorship with Cancer Research and Marie Curie Nurses being the worthy nominated charities for 2023
The pattern depicts a whale, which glides effortlessly through the water, leaving ripples behind it, creating a splash and spray as it goes.
Working diagrams and supporting notes are provided. The motif was worked in Finca 60 with Coats (Mez) Cotton 50 for the contrasting colours (7041, 3432 & 5641). Madeira Multicolour Cotona 30 in shade 509 (Amazone) has been sued for the spray. Alternative threads may of course be used. The pattern uses approximately 80 pairs of bobbins.
