by Ghislaine Eemans-Moors

Rosaline lace was produced originally in the Aalst region of East Flanders, Belgium, between about 1890 and 1950. It is worked with just a small number of bobbins in fine cotton and is part of the group of flower laces to which Bruges, Duchesses and similar laces are also part.

The author developed an interest in this lace during her studies in Bruges in the 1980s and worked with a then surviving lacemaker to study its techniques in detail.

Her book includes sections on the history, equipment and characteristics of the lace followed by detailed instructions for the techniques, including a number of practice projects

Suitable for the experienced lacemaker wishing to explore this lace form.
