The Beauty of the Orient Painted in Thread

During a stay in Singapore, the author was shown an exquisitely embroidered Chinese robe which inspired and encouraged her to explore it further and to execute it in lace - to 'paint with threads' as she describes it.
There follows over 30 Asian motifs transformed by the author into lace form. They are beautifully photographed and presented - a true 'feast for the eyes' which may well encourage other lace makers to follow a similar path using a variety of present-day tecniques.
