June 16th, 2014
If you wish to build on your Bedfordshire skills, this five-day non-residential course in Derby, suitable for all levels of experience, may be just what you are looking for. Design may be included if the students wish.
It will will be lead by Louise West, a contemporary lace artist who specialises in developing designs from traditional bobbin lacemaking techniques, particularly Bedfordshire. Her lace studio, where the course will be held, is at Banks Mill Studios in Derby.
The course will run from 8th-12th September 2014, 9.30-5.30 each day, with lunch included at a nearby location. Also included is a visit to Newstead Abbey to see the lace collection previously held at the Costume Museum in Nottingham.
Although the course is organised on a non-residential basis, there are a number of local hotels within walking distance which would be suitable for those coming from further afield.
More details are available on Louise’s website. Places are limited to 8, so don’t delay !
